Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Knowbility is committed to the safety and health of our community and staff. In these times, accessible technology has never been more critical. We continue to pursue our mission of digital equality and access through the following initiatives:

Audit, consulting and training services

Our distributed team is keeping normal business hours. Digital accessibility is more important than ever and we’re here to help. People with disabilities are members of the most vulnerable population in this COVID-19 situation. They need access to updated news, medical information, as well as the most current information about the availability of state and local resources. Knowbility team members are available to assist with accessibility testing and auditing, usability testing, document accessibility so that you can maintain accessibility in your web properties and messaging. To help our community navigate through this time, Knowbility is offering 15% off our auditing and consulting services. Or use our Pre-Paid Accessibility HelpDesk, which is 20% off our standard rate. Learn more about our services or submit a project inquiry.

AccessU Becomes a Remote Conference

March 30, 2020 - In light of recent events we are unable to confidently predict a safe date for a physical convening of the 2020 John Slatin AccessU accessibility training conference. We know that our community is eager for current accessibility knowledge in these challenging times. The need has never been more clear. At risk people with disabilities, from K12 students through seniors, are increasingly isolated from people, services, support, communication and health information.

With that in mind, we will conduct accessibility trainings remotely. Staff is canvassing remote conference providers, polishing our Zoom skills and making plans for the delivery of a fully accessible, interactive sharing of knowledge and skills.

Let’s show the world it can be done!

We are excited and energized and hope you will stay tuned as we announce firm dates and methods. If you want to help as conference sponsor, we welcome your support. Together we can do this!

Cancellation Policy

Our standard cancellation policy is to allow participants who are unable to attend to choose from these two options:

These options remain open in 2020. As well, since the circumstances are anything but standard this year, we created additional options.

Transferring your ticket

Eventbrite allows for transferring of your ticket to another person. This transfer process is done by updating your order information with the new attendee’s information.

To transfer your ticket, please follow the step-by-step directions on how to update your order information.

Registration as Donation

AccessU is a significant portion of Knowbility’s annual budget. Many of you have generously offered to donate all or part of your registration fee to help us through this hard time. This would be a tax-deductible donation and a way to support Knowbility in the wake of this substantial financial hit.

If you are interested in donating your registration fee, please email AccessU@Knowbility.org. Thank you.

Personal Extenuating Circumstances

We understand however that the options above may not work for everyone. If a change of date simply can’t work for you and the rollover or donation choices are not feasible for you, please email us at AccessU@Knowbility.org, no later than Friday May 1, 2020. Tell us your circumstances and we will process a full refund. We regret that we will not be able to process refunds after that date but the rollover and transfer options remain in effect.

Our Shared Mission

In times like these, when crisis troubles our communities, we at Knowbility are especially grateful to be doing this work in the company of this caring and dedicated community of people who share our mission. Thank you for all you do.

Warmly, Sharron Rush Executive Director and CEO
