Rewarding those who lead by example
Knowbility is excited to announce, we’re accepting nominations for the first annual Achievements in Accessibility Awards. Achievements in Accessibility will recognize excellence in web and IT accessibility initiatives by business, government, nonprofit, and educational entities.
Nominees will be judged according to Knowbility’s Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR) success criteria. AIR criteria are based on W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Nominees will be judged by Knowbility accessibility experts, several of whom are invited experts to the WAI and WCAG working groups. Awards will be presented on January 18th, 2013 along with the regional winners of the Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR).
The online nomination process is open now and will remain open through Friday, December 28th, 2012. You can nominate a business or organization at our Achievements in Accessibility nomination page. Organizations that have integrated accessibility into web sites, applications, or other IT platforms are encouraged to nominate themselves. We encourage nominations of organizations that provide accessible experiences on web sites, mobile applications, or other communications technology. Entrants are also free to create new categories beside those in the Category drop down on the nomination page. Let’s reward those who are at leading by example in the world of accessible IT!
